To all my 1102 students:
I just want you to know that I am moved, inspired, and intrigued by your writings across our blogs, homework assignments, et al. I know what it means to transition from high school (& a questionable public school system) right into college life. It's no trivial thing; not easy for the best of us.
And your writing is a tool: for communication, expression, understanding, processing, and more. I have used writing in my personal life to get through the most difficult times and trust me, I've had my share.
In your writing I see intelligence, thoughtfulness based not merely in intellect, but in compassion, and much more. Please do not underestimate the power of language & composition in our lives, but especially just know that you all have something of value to "add to the mix," whether you know it or not.
